A touch of Britain at Veveří Castle

In 1908 the royal castle Veveří hosted one of the most important personalities of the 20th century, the former British Prime Minister Sir  Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill (1874-1965). It was during his honeymoon with his wife, Clementine. He had been to Veveří several times before at the invitation of his friend, the last private owner of the Veveří castle and estate, Mauritz Arnold De Forest.

A bronze memorial plaque commemorates this fact at the castle. Since 2022, our Winston bistro has been added through flavors and aromas.
